How it works
Most migrations end at launch. Ours keep going for 90 days after it.
A migration is only finished when the new store earns at least what the old one did. So every project has the same four steps, and the third one is the reason the first one exists.
The four steps
Step 01
Baseline
Before we touch anything, we record your top URLs, rankings, revenue per landing page and checkout conversion rate. The new store gets measured against this.
Step 02
Migration
Products, customers, orders and content move over. Every URL that gets traffic gets a redirect, and each one is checked before launch.
Step 03
90-day watch
Every week after launch we compare traffic and conversion with the baseline. If something drops, we find the cause and fix it.
Step 04
Conversion sprint
Once the new store is stable, we test the pages that make you money. Conversion work is what we've done for DTC brands for a decade.
Step 01
What we record before launch
- Your top landing pages by organic sessions and by revenue, from GA4 and Search Console.
- Rankings for the queries that bring those pages traffic.
- Checkout conversion rate, average order value and revenue per session, by device.
- Every URL that received a click, a link or an order in the last 12 months. This is the redirect list, not the sitemap.
- A tracking audit, so the new store reports the same numbers the old one did.
Step 02
What happens during the move
- Products, variants, images, customers, orders and content are mapped field by field and imported in test runs before the real one.
- Extensions get a replacement decision each: a Shopify app, a Shopify Function, a metafield, or nothing because Shopify already does it.
- The theme is built against your baseline pages first, so the pages that earn the money are the pages we check hardest.
- Every redirect on the list is tested against the staging store before launch, in bulk and by hand on the top 50.
- Customers get an activation email we write with you, because passwords cannot move.
Step 03
What the 90-day watch covers
- A weekly comparison of organic sessions, rankings, conversion rate and revenue against the baseline.
- Crawl errors, redirect chains and Search Console coverage, checked every week.
- If a number drops, we find the cause and fix it inside the project fee. That commitment is written into the scope.
- A short written report every week, so your team sees the same numbers we do.
Step 04
What a conversion sprint looks like
- Once traffic has settled, we take the pages with the most revenue and test the changes most likely to lift conversion.
- Product page, cart and checkout come first because that is where the money is.
- Each test runs to a decision, and the winner ships. The sprint is optional and priced separately.
