Terms of use

The agreement

By using dopashift.com you agree to these terms and to the privacy notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. "We", "us" and "DopaShift" mean DopaShift, a Dopamark company. "You" means the person or business using the site.

These terms cover the website only. A migration, audit or any other paid work runs under a separate written agreement that we both sign. Where that agreement and these terms differ, the agreement wins for that project.

Using the site

You may read, print and share links to the pages for your own business use. You may not copy the guides to republish them, scrape the site, probe or overload it, try to get around the bot protection or rate limits, send the contact form with false details, or use the site for anything unlawful. We may block any visitor or address that does.

Guides, dates and prices

The guides, platform pages, state pages and cost pages are general information. Every fact carries the date it was checked, and the sources are named where we rely on a third party such as Adobe, Shopify or a state tax authority. Those third parties change their dates, plans and prices without telling us, so check the source before you act on a figure that matters.

Nothing on the site is legal, tax, accounting or investment advice for your business. Sales tax rules in particular depend on your facts; the state pages describe the rules as published and are not a substitute for a tax professional.

Any price on the site is a starting point for a typical project and is not an offer. Your price is the one in your written agreement.

The store check

The store check fetches public pages from the URL you enter and reports which ecommerce platform the fingerprints point to, and for Magento stores the version where it is readable. It is free and needs no login. By using it you confirm that you own the store or are allowed to check it. We do not log in, install anything or read non-public pages, and we do not keep the result.

The result is our best reading of public signals and can be wrong, for example when a store hides its platform or sits behind a proxy. Do not rely on it alone for a decision that matters; we confirm the platform during scoping. We may rate-limit or refuse checks that look automated.

Enquiries and quotes

Sending the contact form does not start a project and does not commit either of us to anything. We reply with questions or a time for a scoping call. A quote we send after that call is open for the period it states and becomes binding only when both sides sign the agreement.

Content and trademarks

The text, illustrations, code and design of this site belong to DopaShift or Dopamark unless we say otherwise. Shopify, Shopify Plus, Magento, Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix and Squarespace are trademarks of their owners and are used only to name the platforms we move stores between. DopaShift is an independent Shopify Partner. Shopify and Shopify Plus are trademarks of Shopify Inc. Names of brands on the state pages are examples of stores on a platform, not clients or endorsements, unless a page says so.

Links to other sites

We link to Shopify, Adobe, state tax authorities, apps and other sources so you can check what we say. Those sites have their own terms and privacy notices, and we are not responsible for their content or for what they collect. A link is not an endorsement.

No warranty

The site, the guides and the store check are provided as they are and as available. We work to keep them accurate and running, but we do not promise that they are error-free, complete, current or uninterrupted, and we give no warranty, express or implied, about them, including fitness for a particular purpose. Warranties for paid work are set out in the written agreement for that work.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, DopaShift and Dopamark are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost revenue, profit or data, arising from your use of the site, the guides or the store check. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one hundred US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for anything the law does not allow to be limited. Liability for paid work is set out in the written agreement for that work.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the place where Dopamark is registered, and any dispute about the site is heard by the courts there. The written agreement for a project names the governing law and venue for that project, and that choice applies to the project. If you have a complaint, write to us first; most questions are settled in one exchange.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and the new terms apply from the moment they are published. If a change matters, we say so on this page for 30 days.
